Accountant: Work as a Proof of Distribution (POD) specialist primarily responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The Accountant will have the following specific job tasks and responsibilities: compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual account statements utilizing Vistex, and MS Excel; ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures (GAAP) utilizing Vistex and QuickBooks accounting programs; working with sales department to determine Unit Investment Trust charges for units purchased using deferred sales charge products; reconcile spreadsheet to bank account; review and analyze customer financial transaction spreadsheets; process invoices for account payable; make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met; prepare financial management reports; ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes; establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures; resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities; continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities; monitor and support taxation requirements; develop and maintain financial spreadsheets; prepare for year-end financial audit and coordinate the audit process; oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses; evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues; collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems; ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data; consult with clients as needed.
Master’s Degree in Accounting or MBA with a concentration in Accounting. Must have six months of experience in the position offered or six months of experience as a POD Specialist and/or Accounting Intern. accounting experience with Proof of Distribution (POD) experience. Prior experience must include experience utilizing Vistex and QuickBooks accounting programs. In addition, the individual must have experience with MS Excel and MS Outlook.
40 hrs./wk.; 9:00a.m. -5:00 p.m.; Salary: $47,000/year
